Early 60s Heuer Carrera in black is #womw (Taken with Instagram at HODINKEE HQ)
And as fate would have it, I am wearing the “companion” (shown on the left), [also linked by clicking on Ben’s photo]. These are awesome watches!!
So where oh where can we find good 18mm straps for these? I’ve got the 19s and 20s covered!!
HODINKEE straps are available in smooth leather, textured leather, and suede, and in a variety of colors. Included in the HODINKEE strap collection is the first suede camouflage strap ($165), as well as a suede camouflage travel pouch ($55). HODINKEE straps were designed with the great sport watches of the 1960s and 70s in mind, but fit perfectly on any wristwatch.
I have two of these Hodinkee straps and they are absolutely beautiful … works of art.
Have a look at How to Buy a Vintage Watch, in GQ.com. Congratulations to Ben, of Hodinkee, for writing this interesting piece.
Schofield Signalman Watches … an interesting approach to GMT.
As you might expect, there’s a Hodinkee write-up — here. Or check the Schofield website.
