This concept watch, a Carrera done entirely in carbon and powered by the Calibre 1887 movement, was one of the hits of the party.
I was in Geneva this past Monday, for TAG Heuer’s celebration of the 50th Birthday of the Carrera chronograph. I will be posting a complete report, but will provide this quick preview of some of the beautiful Carreras that we saw.
Today’s Heuers … three Carreras. Vintage in the middle (circa 1963); 40th Anniversary model on the left; Jack Heuer 80th Birthday model on the right. With 2013 being the 50th Anniversary of the Carrera, we can expect to see some new and interesting models this year.

Tumblr seems a little light on watches lately, so I’ll post this vintage Carrera, which is what’s on my wrist (#womw) today.

New arrival this week … vintage Heuer Carrera chronograph, with Cougar name and logo on the dial. Seems to have been created re Mercury Cougar’s 1967 Trans Am racing program. The Cougar Trans Am effort lasted only one year, as Ford realized that there was little to be gained in having the Mercury Cougar beat the Ford Mustangs / Shelbys.
